Correction of Kyphoscoliosis Complex With Fixation D4 to Iliac Region

Ms. R.S.K. Al Shammari, a 13-year-old female, was admitted to Metro Hospitals in Faridabad with complaints of lumbosacral congenital deformity and difficulty in walking. The patient had no history of loss of consciousness, seizures, bleeding from the ears, nose, or throat, or vomiting after injury.

The patient underwent a surgical procedure called Correction of Kyphoscoliosis Complex with Fixation D4 to Iliac Region, done under general anaesthesia on September 18, 2022. Dr. Vikram Dua and Dr. Ravi Shankar performed the procedure.

Upon admission, routine and relevant radiological and hematological investigations were done. After a pre- anesthetic checkup and fitness assessment, the patient was taken for surgery. After the surgery, the patient was shifted to the ward for recovery.

The patient was managed with IV fluids, antibiotics, pain medication, and other supportive measures. The postoperative course was uneventful, and the patient was discharged in stable condition with advice from the doctors. Overall, the patient had a successful surgery and recovery process.
