Precision Surgery: Osteochondroma Proximal Tibia with Failed Primary TKR
By Dr. Ashutosh Shrivastava in Metro Heart Institute with Multispecialty, Faridabad
Mr. Abbas Zebq Theyab Al-ledani, a 68-year-old man from Iraq, was admitted to the hospital due to debilitating knee pain and significant difficulty in walking. His condition had progressed to the point where he required the assistance of a walker. Upon evaluation, it was found that his symptoms were a result of patella dislocation with implant failure, in addition to the presence of an osteochondroma located in the proximal tibia on his right side.
Under the skilled care of Dr. Ashutosh Shrivastava and his medical team, Mr. Al-ledani underwent a successful Revision Total Knee Replacement (TKR) surgery on his right knee, which included the excision of the tumor (osteochondroma) from the right proximal tibia.
In the post-operative phase, Mr. Al-ledani’s progress was meticulously monitored, and he received tailored pain management to ensure his comfort and recovery. His condition steadily improved, leading to a stable medical state that allowed for his discharge. Upon discharge, he is stable and fit to resume his daily activities.
